Happy Belated 4th Blogger Friends, hope yours was fantastic!
Sorry we disappeared the past couple of weeks: Tracy was on travel in Paris, Kerry was on "no working out" orders while nursing a foot injury, and Cheryl trained by herself but it was too boring to talk about on here.
But, we started to get our groove back this weekend... sort of...
Kerry and Tracy completed an 8 mile hike up the back side of Cowles Mountain, continuing over to Pyles Peak Summit (Mission Trails) on Sunday while Cheryl slept in. They enjoyed a cool morning - hiking up through the misty cloud cover, and then back down through the hot, hot afternoon sun.
On Monday, we hoped to start our 4th off with a bang - a great hike thru Cedar Creek Falls. The drive should have been our warning! What appeared as a half hour drive, took more than an hour to get there, and we endured 8.2 miles on a striated dirt road that vibrated the entire car with every shallow turn around the forever winding road. Upon our arrival at the parking lot, we found 3 parked cars - 2 with their windows smashed out (1 of which the hood was also popped open). The 3rd car seemed to have people trying to hide in it. Rather than get ourselves into a sticky situation so far from civilization, we high-tailed it out of there. So instead of our lovely hike, we had breakfast at Denny's and called it a day.
BUT, the best is yet to come. Check out our training calendar to see the latest and greatest. July will be very exciting with 3 long altitude hikes and 1 weekend of camping and hiking!!
We are soooo excited - Whitney is just 7 weeks away!! :)
Also, here's a picture we didn't get to share with you, from Tracy & Cheryl's hike at Iron Mtn. Cheers!
